ARD Media Launches 'Audionited,' One-Price Programmatic Audio Booking

ARD Media has unveiled 'Audionited,' a system bundling linear radio and digital audio into a single programmatic booking with one contact-based CPM — a structural simplification of German audio buying, live from October 2026.

One Booking, One Price, One Evaluation

ARD Media, the public-broadcaster ad-sales arm, unveiled "Audionited," a system bundling linear radio and digital audio and podcasts into a single programmatic booking, going live in October 2026. It offers unified bid requests, a single contact-based CPM and integrated reporting and invoicing — "one booking, one price, one evaluation," per CEO Ralf Hape.

It is built with tech partner Amily. One (its "Amy" platform) and One Tech Group's SSP1, with third-party digital audio inventory from launch and video planned from 2027.

Why Simplification Is the Real Product

Audio buying in Germany has been fragmented and fiddly: separate deals for linear radio and digital audio, different metrics, separate invoices. Complexity is a tax on ad budgets, and it quietly pushes spend toward the simpler self-serve platforms.

By collapsing all of that into one programmatic buy with a single CPM, ARD Media removes friction and defends audio's share of budget. This is public broadcasting leaning hard into ad-tech to compete with the global platforms on ease as well as reach.

The Takeaway

The strategic lesson is that ease of buying is a competitive weapon. Media owners that make themselves simpler to buy win budget from those that stay complex, regardless of raw audience numbers.

Our view: for advertisers, unified audio buying should lower planning overhead and improve measurement across radio and podcasts. Watch whether the single CPM genuinely reflects value across very different listening contexts — simplicity is only a win if it does not flatten meaningful differences.
