Billion Dollar Boy Bets Its First Acquisition on B2B Creators

TL;DR: Billion Dollar Boy has made its first-ever acquisition — buying B2B influencer agency Creator Authority, a LinkedIn Marketing Partner whose clients include Amazon, Adobe and Mastercard — in an all-cash, multimillion-dollar deal, betting that B2B creator marketing is, in its new SVP's words, 'YouTube in 2010'.

Billion Dollar Boy, the London-founded influencer agency group, has made the first acquisition in its history — buying Creator Authority, a specialist B2B creator agency and official LinkedIn Marketing Partner whose client roster includes Amazon, Adobe and Mastercard. The all-cash, multimillion-dollar deal, with an earn-out, is a clear bet on where creator marketing goes next.

Why B2B creators are the next frontier

Creator Authority founder Brendan Gahan, who becomes BDB's SVP of B2B, calls the space 'YouTube in 2010' — early, underpriced and about to scale. The numbers behind the bet: a BDB-commissioned survey of more than 1,000 US and UK marketing decision-makers found 20% invested in B2B creator marketing in 2026, rising to 33% in sectors like architecture, engineering and construction. Creator-economy M&A hit 70 deals in the first half of 2026, up 23% year on year.

Our read: B2B marketing has spent a decade talking about 'thought leadership' while quietly paying for it with gated PDFs and webinars nobody watches. Creators solved the same problem for consumer brands years ago — trusted individuals, native formats, built-in distribution. LinkedIn's own moves, including a creator marketplace launched in summer 2026 and an enhanced revenue-share programme, are the infrastructure finally catching up.

The deal mechanics worth noting

It started, fittingly, with a cold LinkedIn message: BDB co-founder Ed East messaged Gahan in 2023 after his B2B-creator content caught his eye. Creator Authority's team will roughly double, from about 15 to 30-40 people, adding New York and London offices to its Los Angeles and Austin base. BDB says group revenue grew 24% in the past year and forecasts 2027 revenue above $100m.

What B2B brands should do now

If you sell to businesses, stop treating creators as a consumer-only tactic. Find the three or four genuine voices your buyers already follow on LinkedIn or YouTube and build an always-on relationship, not a one-off sponsored post. The brands that lock in credible B2B creators now — while the category is still early — will pay a fraction of what the same partnerships cost once every competitor is bidding. Early is the whole advantage.

Quick FAQ

What is B2B creator marketing?

Partnering with trusted individual creators — often on LinkedIn or YouTube — to reach business buyers through native, credible content, rather than ads or gated downloads.

Why is it growing now?

Buyers trust people over brands, LinkedIn has built creator infrastructure (a marketplace and revenue-share), and only around 20% of marketers have invested so far — so it is still early and relatively cheap.

This is the signal every B2B marketer should read. For years, B2B copied consumer marketing about three years late — and creators are the next thing it's late on. The brands that build real relationships with a handful of credible LinkedIn and YouTube voices now, while it's cheap, will own a channel their rivals have to rent back at a premium. Early is the entire edge. — Daniel Nikolla, Founder of Merx Marketing

The takeaway: B2B creator marketing is where consumer influencer marketing was a decade ago — get in while credible voices are still affordable.

Who are the three creators your business buyers already trust — and are you working with any of them yet?
