Outvertising Names Tash Beecher as Its First Creative-Leader CEO

UK LGBTQIA+ advertising advocacy group Outvertising has named Syneos creative director Tash Beecher as its first-ever creative-leader CEO, betting that better creative, not just good intentions, is how inclusion earns its place in advertising.
The Appointment
Outvertising has appointed Tash Beecher as chief executive, the first creative leader to hold the role, succeeding Chris Dunne. Beecher is currently global and EMEA creative director at Syneos Health Communications and previously spent two years as Outvertising's creative co-director.
Chair Mark Runacus MBE said her vision would be 'pivotal in keeping us focused on driving effective queer inclusion in advertising through world-class creative work'. Beecher is also a member of WACL, the senior women's advertising network.
Why It Matters
The appointment lands at a moment when some brands have gone noticeably quieter on Pride-era inclusion, wary of backlash. Choosing a creative leader, rather than a comms or policy figure, is a deliberate signal: the argument for inclusion is being reframed around effectiveness and craft.
That framing matters commercially. Representation that is authentic and well-made tends to build brand affinity; representation that is tokenistic or nervous tends to backfire. The distinction is a creative one, which is exactly why a creative now leads the organisation.
Marketing Minute's Take
We think the smartest read here is that DEI in advertising is not retreating so much as regrouping around evidence. Brands that treat inclusion as a year-round, well-crafted part of how they talk to audiences will keep the upside; brands that only show up in June increasingly get called out for it.
For marketers, the practical question is consistency. If your inclusive representation appears and disappears with the calendar, audiences notice. Build it into your everyday creative, brief it properly, and judge it by the same effectiveness standards as everything else you make.
