Hill Living Magazine Marks First Year With Autumn 2026 Issue for North London
Updated: 6 days ago

TL;DR: Hill Living Magazine, the seasonal lifestyle title for Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Highgate and East Finchley, has published its Autumn 2026 issue online and in print. Founded and edited by Louisa Maidwell, who also publishes Ealing Living Magazine, the title is free to pick up from independent shops, cafés and landmarks across the four neighbourhoods.
A Seasonal Title Built Around Four Neighbourhoods
Hill Living Magazine is published four times a year, once per season, in both print and digital editions. It launched with a Winter issue and describes itself as hyperlocal: stories, people, culture and community from Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Highgate and East Finchley, presented with a high-end, aspirational feel.
Who Runs It
The magazine is run by Louisa Maidwell, an independent publisher who built the format with Ealing Living Magazine in West London, now past its 14th issue. Hill Living brings the same model to north London.
Inside the Autumn 2026 Issue
The Autumn issue went live online on 18 September, with print copies following a week later. It includes:
A feature on The Windsor Castle in East Finchley, named BII Licensee of the Year
Profiles of two local women supporting their communities, from Nightingale and Louise Slattery, known as The Mind Lady
The regular "Why We Love…" column, this time on Pond Square in Highgate
A look back at 90 years since the first regular public television service began broadcasting from Alexandra Palace
Five ways to network across north London, and a "Shop Talk" interview with What Mother Made
"Top Table" reviews of Osteria and Bistro Aix in Crouch End, plus recipes from local chefs

Distribution and Advertising
According to the publisher, the magazine reaches around 10,000 readers across print and online and is stocked by 40 independent stores, cafés and local landmarks. The Autumn issue's primary sponsor is the law firm Streathers Daynes Smith. Advertising is sold as full, half and quarter pages, and readers can subscribe to the digital edition through the link on the magazine's Instagram, @hilllivingmag.
Why It Matters for Local Marketers
"Hyperlocal print is having a quiet comeback because it offers something paid social can't: a trusted, physical presence in the places your customers already spend time. For independent restaurants, trades and professional services in north London, a title like Hill Living is a credible way to reach affluent households on their own doorstep," said Daniel Nikolla, Founder of Merx Marketing Ltd and Marketing Minute.
